Thai Word of the Day: “cha-leuy” (เฉลย)

“cha-leuy” (เฉลย) can be used in the following ways:

verb: to reveal / to tell (answers)

The verb “cha-leuy” (เฉลย) is to let something become known, for example a secret or information that was previously not known.

Examples:

ter mai yawm cha-leuy kam-dtawb
เธอไม่ยอมเฉลยคำตอบ
(She refused to reveal the answers)

kao dai cha-leuy kwaam-jing laeo gio-gap reuang nan
เขาได้เฉลยความจริงแล้วเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนั้น
(He has already revealed the truth about that)

ter dai cha-leuy saa-hade kawng kwaam-phid-plaad laeo
เธอได้เฉลยสาเหตุของความผิดพลาดแล้ว
(She has already revealed the cause of the error)
