Thai Word of the Day: “ngung” (งง)

“ngung” (งง) can be used in the following ways:

adjective: is confused / is puzzled / is baffled

The adjective “ngung” (งง) is used when we feel confused because we cannot understand something.


yaa doo ngung – man ngaai nid-dio
อย่าดูงง – มันง่ายนิดเดียว
(Don’t look so puzzled – it’s perfectly simple)

ter reuhm roo-seuk ngung lek-noi
(She is starting to feel a bit confused)

kwaam-kid kawng-phuak-kao ngung lek-noi
(Their ideas were a bit confused)

phom yang ngung lek-noi gio-gap sing thee geud-keun
(I’m still a little confused about what happened)

Jane jawng-mawng kao, roo-seuk ngung yaang-sin-cheung
เจนจ้องมองเขา, รู้สึกงงอย่างสิ้นเชิง
(Jane stared at him, feeling totally confused)
