Thai Word of the Day: “sung-sai” (สงสัย)

“sung-sai” (สงสัย) can be used in the following ways:

verb: to doubt / to suspect / to wonder

The verb “sung-sai” (สงสัย) is used when we believe that someone has done something, usually something bad, or when we think about someone or something because we have doubts or are worried about them.

Examples:

khun sung-sai arai?
คุณสงสัยอะไร
(What are you wondering?)

chan sung-sai kao baang-krang, jing-jing
ฉันสงสัยเขาบางครั้ง, จริงๆ
(I have doubt about him sometimes, I really do)

chan sung-sai waa kao ad-ja mee faen mai laeo
ฉันสงสัยว่าเขาอาจจะมีแฟนใหม่แล้ว
(I suspect that he may already have a new girlfriend)
