Thai Vocabulary: Nouns (คำนาม – Module Two)

A noun is a naming word. It names a person, place, thing, idea and living creature (e.g. woman, hospital, house, thought, tree, etc.)

Here are the nouns from the Module Two in your Student Workbook Level A1:

– cheu (ชื่อ) = name / to be named (v.)

– cheu-jing (ชื่อจริง) = real name

– cheu-dtem (ชื่อเต็ม) = full name

– cheu-len (ชื่อเล่น) = nickname

– naam-sa-gun (นามสกุล) = surname

– san-chaad (สัญชาติ) = nationality

– aa-yoot (อายุ) = age

– way-laa (เวลา) = time

– wan (วัน) = day

– wan-thee (วันที่) = date

– aa-thid (อาทิตย์) = week

– deuan (เดือน) = month

– bpee (ปี) = year / years old (when talking about age)
