The phrase “mai leow” (ไม่เลว) is used for saying that someone or something is fairly good, especially when they are better than you expected them to be.


roob-phaab lao-nan mai leow leuy sam-rap meu-mai
(Those pictures aren’t bad for a beginner)

phuak-rao kid waa man ja yae, dtae man mai leow leuy
พวกเราคิดว่ามันจะแย่ แต่มันก็ไม่เลวเลย
