Thai Word of the Day: “nam-thaang” (นำทาง)

“nam-thaang” (นำทาง) can be used in the following ways:

verb: to lead / to guide / to direct (direction)

The verb “nam-thaang” (นำทาง) is used for saying that someone is showing someone else which direction they should walk or travel in by going with them.

Examples:

phuak-rao kaw hai kon nai moo-baang chuay nam-thaang bpai nam-dtok
พวกเราให้คนในหมู่บ้านช่วยนำทางไปน้ำตก
(We asked someone in the village to help lead us to the waterfall)

thaa khun dtaam rot kawng-phom ma lae phom ja nam-thaang khun bpai thaang-duan
ถ้าคุณตามรถของผมมาและผมจะนำทางคุณไปทางด่วน
(If you follow my car and I will lead you to the motorway)

ter jab kaen kawng phoo-chai cha-raa laeo nam-thaang kao bpai thee gao-ee kawng-kao
เธอจับแขนของผู้ชายชราแล้วนำทางเขาไปที่เก้าอี้ของเขา
(She took the old man’s arm and guided him to his chair)
