Thai Word of the Day: “nawn-len” (นอนเล่น)

“nawn-len” (นอนเล่น) can be used in the following ways:

verb: to have a lie down

The verb “nawn-len” (นอนเล่น) is when you take a short rest by lying down, but not necessary to go to sleep.


chan ja bpai nawn-len ao raeng sak phag
(I’m going to go and lie down to regain my strength for a while)

thaa khun roo-seuk neuay gaw nawn-len lae phawn-klaai
(If you feel tired, then lie down and relax)

thaa chan neuay geun-bpai chan gaw ad-ja bpai nawn-len laeo gaw ngeeb-lab nid-noi
(If I get too tired I might just have a lie down and have a little nap)
