Thai Word of the Day: “ngee-ngao” (งี่เง่า)

“ngee-ngao” (งี่เง่า) can be used in the following ways:

adjective: is irrational / is being stupid / is being unreasonable

The adjective “ngee-ngao” (งี่เง่า) is used when we are not thinking or behaving in a clear reasonable way.

Examples:

phom roo waa phom gam-lang ngee-ngao
ผมรู้ว่าผมกำลังงี่เง่า
(I know I am being irrational)

tham-mai khun chawb tham-dtua ngee-ngao?
ทำไมคุณชอบทำตัวงี่เง่า
(Why do you acting unreasonable?)

ter bpen phoo-ying thee ngee-ngao lae kee-heung maak
