Thai Word of the Day: “tham dtaam” (ทำตาม)

“tham-dtaam” (ทำตาม) can be used in the following ways:

verb: to follow (an instruction)

The verb “tham-dtaam” (ทำตาม) is used to when we are obeying an order, or doing what someone has advised us to do.


khun dtawng tham-dtaam naew-thaang thee phaet gam-nud
(You must follow the guidelines prescribed by the doctor)

ter bpa-dti-sade thee-ja tham-dtaam kam-nae-nam kawng-phuak-rao
(She refused to follow our advice)

phuak-rao kuan tham-dtaam kam-nae-nam kawng phoo-pha-lid yaang rawb-kawb
(We should follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully)
