Thai Word of the Day: “tut-rade” (ทุเรศ)

“tut-rade” (ทุเรศ) can be used in the following ways:

adjective: is dreadful / is shocking

The adjective “tut-rade” (ทุเรศ) is used when someone say or behave in a way which we feel is offensive, rude or shocking.

Examples:

yaa tham-dtua tut-rade
อย่าทำตัวทุเรศ
(Do not behave in an obscene way)

phood arai? tut-rade maak!
พูดอะไร ทุเรศมาก
(What are you saying? It’s shocking!)

kao dtaeng-dtua tut-rade maak
เขาแต่งตัวดูทุเรศมาก
(The way he dressed looks dreadful)
