Thai Word of the Day: “yieb” (เหยียบ)

“yieb” (เหยียบ) can be used in the following ways:

verb: to step on / to tread on / to trampled on

The verb “yieb” (เหยียบ) is used when someone walk or step on something.

Examples:

yieb man wai!
เหยียบมันไว้!
(Step on it!)

ter yieb arai-baang-yaang nai kwaam-meud
เธอเหยียบอะไรบางอย่างในความมืด
(She trod on something in the dark)

dek phuak-nan yieb dawk-mai kawng-chan mud
เด็กพวกนั้นเหยียบดอกไม้ของฉันหมด!
(Those kids have trampled all over my flowerbeds!)

phoo-kon thuuk yieb jun dtaai nai foong-chon
ผู้คนถูกเหยียบจนตายในฝูงชน
(People were trampled to death in the crowd)
