Thai Word of the Day: “yud-dti” (ยุติ)

“yud-dti” (ยุติ) can be used in the following ways:

verb: to stop / to terminate / to cease / to end (something)

The verb “yud-dti” (ยุติ) is to bring something to an end; or to stop something.

Examples:

kao dai thuuk nae-nam hai yud-dti san-yaa
เขาได้ถูกแนะนำให้ยุติสัญญา
(He was advised to terminate the contract)

khun kuan yud-dti phood gio-gap reuang nee dai laeo
คุณควรยุติพูดเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้ได้แล้ว
(You should stop talking about this now)

kao yud-dti kwaam-sam-phan gap ter naan laeo, dtae ter gaw yang pha-yaa-yaam dtid-dtaw kao yaang-sa-mam-sa-meur
เขายุติความสัมพันธ์กับเธอนานแล้วแต่เธอก็ยังพยายามติดต่อเขาอย่างสม่ำเสมอ
(He ended the relationship with her ages ago, but she still consistently tried to contact him)
