Thai Word of the Day: “chuay” (ช่วย)

“chuay” (ช่วย) can be used in the following ways:

main verb: to help / to assist

The verb “chuay” (ช่วย) is used when someone gives someone else support or information so that they can do something more easily.

Examples:

– khun chuay chan haa waen-dtaa dai mai? (Can you help me find my glasses?)
– phee-chai kawng-ter chuay ter tham garn-baan (Her older brother helped her with her homework)
– naa-thee kawng-ter keu chuay phoo-jad-garn (Her duty is to assist the manager)
– nai-thee-sud phuak-kao dtok-lung chuay nai garn-sawb-suan
(They eventually agreed to assist the investigation)
